Feierabends
nur Hochkarätiges
Din was, wenn Bildschirme
dunkel, Drehbänke abge-
schaltet sind, unternimmt man
jetzt?
«Dallas» mit Nüsschen hat Flau-
te. In sind momentan Happy
Hours mit den exquisiten Vadu-
zer Weinen aus der Hofkelleref
des Fiirsten sowie drei, vier Spit:
zenlokale mit derart raffinierter
Küche, dass auch dem heikel-
sten Feinschmecker bloss noch
Superlative einfallen. Daneben
werden, als Geheimtips, ein paar
originelle Gaststätten gehandelt.
die sich auf Einheimisches spe-
zialisiert haben: «Chäschnöpfli
un’ suura Moscht» zum Beispiel
(Lies: Käsespätzle und Apfel-
wein). Obigem Gourmet, ja, ihm
fiele ein Urteil schwer...
Ganz ähnliche Schwierigkeiten
verheisst der Veranstaltungska-
lender in den beiden Liechten-
steiner Tageszeitungen. Denn
das kulturelle Spektrum lässt
zwischen dem Trachtenabend
und der Disco nicht die kleinste
Lücke offen. Für den Tages-
touristen sind die weltberühm-
ten «Fürstlichen Sammlungen»
selbstverständlich
selbstverständlich ein Muss, und
wenn die Parkzeit reicht, liegen
auch das rührige Briefmarken-
museum sowie das Landesmu-
seum mit seinen bronzenen Rari-
taten aus Liechtensteins Urge-
schichte noch drin.
Die weitere Fortsetzung des Pro-
gramms garantiert dann erneut
Verblüffendes. Hort man abends
sin hochkarétiges Konzert in der
liechtensteinischen Musikschu-
le, schaut man sich im Schaaner
Theater am Kirchplatz ein hinter-
gründiges Stück an, lauscht man
an der Philosophischen Akade-
mie den Worten eines ôffentlt
chen Denkers oder ein paar Häu-
ser weiter dem beschwérenden
Vortrag einer Kräuter-Koryphäe?
Auch wenn man noch nicht
schlüssig geworden ist, fest
steht: Kultur hat enorm Saison.
Free Time Well Spent
Wi do people do now when
the factories close, when
the lathes are switched off?
«Dallas» is out of favour. «In» at
the moment are the happy hours
spent over the superb wines
from the Princely «Hofkellerei»
and at three or four first-class
restaurants whose cuisine is so
subtile that even the most dis-
cerning gourmet can only use
superlatives in its praise. In addi-
tion, a good tip concerning a few
original pubs is mentioned here
an the quiet. These pubs specia-
lize in local dishes, «Chéschndpf:
i un’ suura Moscht»—{cheese
with home made noodles and ci-
der), for example. The gourmet
mentioned above would be hard
put to judge...
Very similar difficulties are en-
countered with the list of events
and functions published in the
country’s two daily papers. Be-
cause there is not even the smal-
lest gap between the national
costume evenings and the disco.
The «Princely Collections» are,
of course, a must for the day
tourist and if there is still parking
space, so, too, is the peaceful
Postal Museum and the National
Museum with its rare bronze ex-
hibits from Liechtenstein’s ear
liest history.
The continuation of the program-
me ensures renewed astonish-
ment. Whether during the eve-
ning one listens to a high quality
concert at the Liechtenstein
School of Music, sees an enig-
matic play at the Theatre am
Kirchplatz in Schaan, hears the
words of a thinker philosophizing
in public at the Academy of Phi-
losophy or, a few houses further
on, hears an evokotive speach
by an authority on herbs, it must
be admitted that culture is very
much in season, even if one can-
not make up one’s mind.
